Laura & Jacob
The Brief: This invitation suite was based on both the vibrant colour scheme of warm purples, bright reds and creamy brown tones, and the couple's love of cooking - which formed a motif of sorts that was reflected throughout their entire stationery suite.

Invitation Suite:
The invitation is designed to be A5 in size when fully folded, and features a beautiful ornate hand-trimmed embellished belly-band. Red ribbon was also used to add a tactile element to the outer invitation. The invitation was designed in three panels - a detachable RSVP panel, a panel outlining the ceremony/reception details, and a folder panel which housed three inserts, a map, gift registry and accommodation information, and a Recipe card (further details below).

We designed the RSVP card/attendance form to be able to be detached along a perforation line, filled out, folded up, sealed and posted without need for an envelope back to the couple. This RSVP card included meal preferences for the varied reception menu, specific dietary requirements, and also room to fill in a note from the guests for the couple.

We also designed a Recipe Card to be included in the invitation inserts. Guests are encouraged to fill out the Recipe Card with a favourite recipe, and also a 'recipe' for a happy marriage for the couple, and bring it to the reception, where the cards would be collated and presented in a beautiful matching recipe card box - a useful alternative to a guest book that the couple would enjoy long after the reception.

Plate Menu & Placecards:
As an alternative to a regular menu, plate menus were designed to fit on each guest's square plate that informed guests of their meal choices (which corresponded with what they choose on their RSVP card). The embellishment featuring the couple's names was hand cut and fixed to each menu to give a dimensional feel to the menu. A seamless pattern was also designed featuring the couple's initials over an illustration of a knife, fork and spoon - symbolizing their love of food and fine dining. The recipe of the couple's signature cocktail which guests were served during the reception is also a feature.

Placecards were designed to reserve the guest's seat, similar to that of a restaurant "Reserved" sign. Each guest also received a rave review from a Good Food guide in order to show the couple's appreciation for them being there!

Reception Table Favour Labels:
Several labels were designed in addition the stationery suite, in order to further decorate the reception venue with little touches of the colour scheme. Swing tag labels could be affixed to items such as paper flower decorations (pictured further below), table favours and little wooden spoons which decorated the tables. The embellishment featured on the invitations was also re-used to decorate signage around the venue and to decorate both small red boxes and glass jars full of red sweets (as shown in the photos below).

An example of these labels, used to decorate favours and the paper flowers that we also designed as decorations. We created little butterfly shapes out of additional corresponding patterns to decorate wine and water glasses:

Patterned paper in the matching colour scheme was used to wrap around beautiful red linen napkins, and labels were affixed to wooden cooking spoons using fine red ribbon:

More labels were used to decorate these simple red favour boxes, filled with sweets:

A soft-drink bottle label was also designed to affix to pre-purchased soft drink bottles, served during the ceremony and during cocktail hour before the reception. These gave the drinks supplied a really custom feel and was a cost-effective way of continuing the colour scheme during the ceremony.

Acting as table numbers, clear skin wine bottles were used to display custom labels displaying which table was which - this was another easy, simple touch that also continued the stationery motif through the reception venue. Each bottle was also decorated with a cute red polka-dot patterned band.

As this project was created as a sample for the recent Bridal Expo, we are delighted to be able to offer this project as a full stationery suite for sale - it can be customized to suit your colors and names! Please email us if you are interested in using this design for your event. Once this suite is sold to a couple, it will no longer be available - making sure your wedding stationery is still unique.
Thankyou to James Sann for his amazing product photography of our designs.
