Angela & Ross's Wedding Stationery Suite

The Brief: Angela and Ross had two very distinct themes running through their wedding plans - a love of vintage, and an appreciation for Eastern design elements. These two themes fused beautifully in the scrap book that Angela presented as a rough guide for her stationery, and together, we developed a unique take on the invitations - constructing the details of Ross and Angela's wedding as a hand-held fan/bookmark for the guests to keep.

Angela picked a beautiful pallet - baby pinks, olive greens, browns and blacks, which complimented the black and white photography beautifully. We also layed vintage wallpapers and pewter frames with bold black Eastern elements and strings of pearls, and finished the design off with a distressed edge for a worn look. There was a lot of information to display, but this was done with ease, with each section - the hosts of the wedding, the wedding party, the time and date, the location of the ceremony and reception (with maps), accomodation, gift ideas and RSVP instructions - had its own section of the fan, making finding the relevant information a breeze (pun intended!).

The fan folded up to form a bookmark-style slip, sealed with a white band made of watercolour paper that displayed the bride and groom's names and the date of their wedding. Each fan was carefully adorned with a hand-made pink tassle. On the other side of the fan, when splayed, the sections spelled out 'DESTINY' - a notion that has very special meaning to this romantic couple.

Angela and Ross were fantastic to work with - the themes and colours carefully chosen by Ange were inspiring and rewarding, as was the enthusiasm for the end result! Thankyou, and best of luck!

Libby and Craig's Wedding Stationery Suite

The Brief: Libby and Craig were open to suggestions regarding their invitations as they hadn't really planned anything. After a consultation with Libby, we decided to design the invitation around Libby's dress, which was a fabulous shade of coral - and I based the modern look of the invitations on Libby's personality and flair for contemporary style. Brown and black were added for depth, and light olive and white highlights completed the look.

The inspiration for the design of the invitation came from a special brooch Libby planned to wear on the day - a custom illustration was created from a top-secret photo of Libby's dress in order to colour match the hot pink of the invitation to her gorgeous gown, and to get the glints of light off the brooch's jewels just right.

To try something different, the folded invitations were given a third panel, which perforated off to become a seal-able RSVP card. An adhesive strip was attached to each card so that once attendance details were filled out, the guest could simply detatch the RSVP card, fold it and post it back to Libby and Craig's preprinted address. This proved to be a great success!

A slip was carefully placed around each Z-fold invitation to keep them in place and also add another dimension to the design - this also made the invitation easily identifiable as Libby and Craig's.

It's a pleasure to work with two such open-minded people and I was very honoured to be involved in Libby and Craig's special day. Thankyou!

Jo & Shannon's Wedding Stationery Suite

The Brief: Jo and Shannon required something classic and effortless, and planned to utilised a double-sided DL card as their invitation to add to a sense of simplicity. I worked with photography they had supplied and a colour scheme of baby blues, dark browns, cream and gold, to create a stationery suite that was as modern and elegant as the couple themselves.

The invitation was double-sided and printed on thick card with a slight sheen, which added to the lushness of the piece. Each invitation was carefully trimmed and placed inside a metallic gold envelope which matched the frame around the couple beautifully.

A thankyou card was also commissioned to thank guests for their attendance and best wishes on the day. This utilised a photo of the happy couple on their special day and was printed on equally thick stock to match the invitations. The envelopes for this project were also metallic gold, but with a modern stripe. The end result was simple yet sophisticated.

Jo and Shannon were an absolute pleasure to work with - they were both very open to different design elements of their invites and couldn't have been more accomodating. Thankyou!

Megan & Michael's Wedding Stationery Suite

The Brief: Megan and Michael had planned their colour scheme and even Megan's dress when they first started discussing their event stationery. Rich browns and lush golds were employed as the colour palette for the entire set of stationery, and magestic, stylish type offset the design whilst still remaining clear for guests to read. Florishes added to a sense of elegance and style.

Above: Megan's beautiful dress.

The Save The Date card was the first step in the design process, and featured the embroidery of Megan's dress in the background, and a pair of intertwined champagne glasses to envoke a celebratory theme. Each card was mounted to metallic creamy stock for added durability and to make each piece more tactile.

Megan had pre-purchased invitation folders in the same metallic stock as the backing mounts, so we worked with these as a base for the design for the invitations. As Megan and Michael lived in an entirely different state to where their wedding was being held, the invitation needed to cover a lot of bases: to provide their guest list with not only an invitation, but information about how to get to the ceremony and reception, and also a classic way of responding with their attendance - a RSVP card and provided envelope. Add to this information about their gift registry and the invitation became quite a package!

We decided to make the outer folder more of a 'title page' with the couple's own uniquely styled monogram, and then dedicated the inside folder to display both the invitation details, and housing the tiered information cards. A pre-printed envelope was slipped behind the RSVP card so guests could easily mail their response back to Megan and Michael.

After the beautiful event that was Megan and Michael's wedding, the newly-weds were very prompt in commissioning a thankyou card design, featuring their amazing wedding photography - don't they make a lovely looking couple! We decided on an exquisite gold frame to house the chosen photo, and a simple 'Thankyou' for the front, to keep as a momento. These cards were also mounted to the metallic cream backing, and Megan hand-wrote a thankyou note on each one, how's that for personalised!

I cannot say enough what a pleasure it was to assist Megan and Michael in creating their wedding stationery, they were dream clients and made wonderful new friends - I wish you both all the best!
