Natasha and Simon
The Brief: Natasha and Simon got engaged on the beach in Surfer's Paradise, as fireworks exploded overhead on New Years Eve. They had spent some time traveling overseas and wanted to represent both the magical time they had in Europe, as well as Simon's exciting wedding proposal, in their engagement invitation. The couple really liked the previous project we completed for Kelly and Ben which was also travel-themed - both the format and the design - but we wanted to try something a little bit different this time around. We designed an invitation folder modeled on an airplane ticket holder, with a custom pocket to slip a boarding pass out of that contained all the important party details!
Closed, the invitation was designed as a luxurious flying documents wallet, with a checkered pattern and stitching as a throwback to high-end luggage fabric, as well as Simon's interest in motorbikes! A bellyband with a buckle secured the invitation for postage. When opened, the top of the folder was a scrapbook-style montage of the couple's travel memories - featuring stamps, stickers, Polaroids and negatives, and an Australian passport. As you can see, they make a lovely looking couple and had some fantastic adventures abroad!
The boarding pass was a seperate card that slid out of the main invitation 'wallet'. It listed all the details of Tash and Simon's party, and we perforated the pass into three sections, much like a real boarding pass!
Each invitation customised with Natasha and Simon's guest list, and was placed inside a crisp black metallic envelope with custom address label, ready to send to the couple's friends and family. I'm sure the party was fantastic and that there are many more nights of celebration ahead- congratulations Tash and Simon!
