Libbie and Juston |
The Brief: It's always exciting to try something a little out of your comfort zone, and Libbie and Juston's über-contemporary, resplendent in yellow/black/white invitation suite was just that. We designed a layered, stylish, and eye-catching invitation to set the tone for Libbie and Juston's cosmopolitan wedding celebrations.
| The format for Libbie and Juston's invitation was based on a beautiful invitation design Libbie had seen and liked - three DL-sized cards with an interesting sleeve. We took Libbie's preferences a few steps further: the invitation featured not two but three different layers to make up a detailed bellyband, topped with Libbie and Juston's monogram. The Breton-esque stripes on the sleeve, housing each of the cards, create a very dynamic contrast to the tulip-patterned and block yellow bellybands, and the main sleeve also features a half-circle die cut to make removing the cards nice and easy. |
| The three cards were the "invitation card" which featured the formal ceremony details, a "ceremony/reception card" which listed information pertaining to the reception as well as the address of the church Libbie and Juston were to be married, and a reply card. Each card was backed with a complimentary, corresponding full-bleed pattern to add detail and interest. A favourite little touch was the silhouetted illustrations of candles, a table and chairs. |
Reply Card
The reply card was designed as a single DL-sized card, which could be folded in half, sealed with a strip of tape, and posted back to Libbie and Juston - super easy for their guests and no need for an envelope! There was also room for friends and family to write a special message to Libbie and Juston. |
| The envelope chosen was a mock-suede finish - so lovely to the touch - and featured a custom wrap-around address label with guest's details on the front, and Libbie and Juston's return address on the back. |

Order of Service
At the same time that we were designing Libbie and Juston's invitation, we designed an Order of Service cover in the same theme. Instead of using the DL format again, we made the booklet square, which ended up being quite a cool contrast to the rest of the suite. A great tip to save costs for your matching stationery is to invest in a simple, full colour, one-sided-print cover which can often be printed at the same time as your invitation suite, and then print the inserts of your booklets on a B&W printer or photocopier closer to the date of your event. |

Wish Cards
We also created a little set of "wish cards" which were used like a guest book - guests were given various questions that they could answer. Libbie planned to keep these in an album as mementos made by her friends and family. The cards, and signage, kept with the overall theme of the invitation suite, and also featured a beautiful chandelier silhouette. |

Candy Buffet signage, banner and stickers
Libbie and Juston also chose to include a candy buffet in their reception decor and we designed instructional signage to adorn this, as well as stickers to put on guest's lolly bags featuring the couple's monogram. We also created a banner made up of letters in circles that spelt out "SWEET LOVE" and was tied together with layered yellow ribbon. |
| We also created placecards in a complimentary design to the overall suite. |
