Tannaz and Kane |
The Brief: Tannaz and Kane, a super stylish pairing with exquisite taste, were a fabulous inspiration for their own invitations: their suite just had to be as contemporary, elegant and layered as the couple were. This invitation was a completely new format for us, with some amazing little touches that made it one to remember!
| Tannaz and Kane's invitation was created to fit inside a C6 envelope - which made us consider how we could use the size of this invitation to effectively create a sense of exploration within a small folder: the opportunity for the guest to be surprised and to explore the components of the invite, revealing information as they went. |
| The main invitation, a folder that was unfolded to reveal a triangular top, with a middle section and a pocket base, was slipped inside a cover that was made up of Tannaz and Kane's monogram, and an illustrative pattern that represented features of Tannaz and Kane's personality and relationship. The leaves referenced the time of their marriage, during the autumnal month of April, florals, swirly vines and grapes to represent the vineyard where their ceremony was to be held, and a subtle webbing was used to hint at the pattern of a racquet - a reference to Kane's occupation as a tennis coach. |
| Rollover the above image with your mouse to view the invitation section open and closed. The fold-out nature of this section gave us the opportunity to present the ceremony and reception details, to use the pattern of the bridesmaids' dresses shutter pleating, as well as feature photos of Tannaz and Kane, as well as both of their parents' wedding day photos, in a modern scrapbook style. Each invitation was customised with the guest's name. |
| The pocket section of the invitation held three separate cards, each trimmed longer than the last: a card listing accommodation and gift suggestions, a map directing guests to the ceremony and reception venues, and a reply card that was self-sealing using an adhesive tape strip, and was able to be folded and posted back to Tannaz and Kane. We repeated the lovely pattern on the outer of the invitation folder again in the map, and introduced a tree illustration which ties into both the autumnal leaves of the invite design, and also the wish tree the couple planned to install at their reception. |
| The reply card was a fun new concept - we included a small sheet of stickers that guests were encouraged to place on their card before sending it back. Guests could chose the applicable sticker based on whether or not they could attend the event. We also included room to indicate dietary requirements and a short message for Tannaz and Kane. The reverse of the card was printed with Tannaz and Kane's address, and each reply card was included in the invitation suite with a special wedding stamp already affixed so all guests needed to do was fill it out and pop it in the post! This card was a hit with guests who enjoyed "sticking on" their attendance plans! |

Program Fans and Cards
We also presented a concept for program fans using hard plastic fan handles - as well as keeping guests cool, these fans would present the order of service and also the who's who of the bridal party! Tannaz and Kane opted for square cards instead as the weather turned cooler on their wedding day, but we think this would be a fab addition to any wedding ceremony! |

Wish Tree Cards and Signage
At the reception, Tannaz and Kane wanted a different take on a guestbook, so they installed a beautiful silver tree as their "wish tree" - a place for guests to write their love and best wishes and hang them on the branches. We designed two types of cards - on with the shutter pleat pattern, and one with T&K's beautiful illustrative pattern - with blank spaces on the back, decorated with the couple's stylish monogram. Fine black satin ribbon was strung through each card so that it would dangle delicately from it's own branch. As well as being a functional and different guest book, this tree also added a lovely touch of decor to the reception space.

The Seating Chart
Our final project was a massive undertaking but one we were very proud of! Tannaz and Kane supplied a detailed list of guests, with how each guest was connected to any other guest attending the wedding, as a guide for us to make a Relationship Chart for them: even though their event was cocktail and had no required seating, this was a wonderful display at the entrance to the venue. We added little notes where applicable about how each guest met or knew Tannaz and Kane, and icons to illustrate who was in the bridal party, who was married to each other, and Kane's "wingman" got a special set of wings! The chart will also serve as a lovely keepsake for Tannaz and Kane to look back on after their wedding day. |

| It was an honour to work with Tannaz and Kane throughout their planning process and in the leadup to their big day - Tannaz had many wonderful ideas that translated beautifully into the wedding ceremony and reception, making it a night that their friends and family could not stop raving about! Thankyou for choosing It's A Date, and congratulations Mr and Mrs Dewhurst! |
